Save our Mulund
A SUGGESTION TO MSEB
A lot has been said about the load shedding and all that. However, has anyone given due thought to finding out WHERE is all this electricity being consumed?
I can say for a fact that there are areas such as Bhiwandi which are amongst the biggest contributors to this power crisis. Not to mention that the MSEB officials and the handloom owners there are hand in glove.
I have personally seen that there are literally HUNDREDS of illegal connections which consume a bulk of the power illegally. This has been elaborately covered by news channels and by newspapers.
Every electric pole you see has at least 20 wires dangling from it. These wires supply power to these defaulting units. What is surprising is, if I, as an ordinary citizen can see these wires, why cant the MSEB officials? Now, any sensible person will know the reason.
There are cases where there is an outstanding amount of lakhs of rupees to be recovered from a single defaulter. What the defaulter does is, he finds it convenient to pay a small amount as a bribe as compared to the lakhs of rupees which are outstanding. Owing to this he enjoys uninterrupted power supply at the cost of consumers who pay up regularly.
Mr. Nichant proudly proclaimed that may cases of power thefts have been caught in Mulund. Sir, I wish to remind you that this is just a tip of the iceberg! Do you have the courage to open a pandora's box and do something about theft in Bhiwandi?
It takes courage. Mr. Nichant, maybe this will be one acid test for you.

Mulund is regarded as the Prince of the Central suburbs. However, over a period of time, owing to public laxity and governmental apathy, this Prince is now being slowly transformed into a pauper. It is time that responsible citizens come forward and do SOMETHING about it. It is time to WAKE UP!! So, citizens of Mulund, come forward, voice your concerns and be heard! We will try and get media help to get these issues sorted out.

One cant help but notice how much power is being consumed by the big malls which are mushrooming everywhere. There was a time when I would wonder where they kept getting uninterrupted electricity.
The there was this interview in a leading newspaper given by the Energy Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Dilip Valse-Patil. He candidly admitted that the government could not have such high hours of loadshedding for malls and other industrial units. The reason was that these malls and industrial units pay nearly thrice the rate per unit of electricity comapared to a non commercial consumer.
If this was the case then WHY did the government provide free electricity to the farmers? Later, when the power crisis began to affect their vote bank, they withdrew it immediately and subsidized the rates for the farmers.
My question is, WHY in the firsr place was electricity distributed free when the Dabhol plant had shut down?
Just because normal consumers pay less, we endure power cuts. Will MSEB please note that maximum power thefts is by the industrial units like the ones in Bhiwandi.
Does MSEB need a kick on its behind to wake up?
There have been so many incidents of unscheduled load shedding. We all have expensive electrical appliances at our places. Will MSEB compensate us if these appliances go bust because they choose not to do their work or to do it shoddily?
I know people who have lost refridgerators, entire TV sets and expensive computer hardware because of apathy shown by MSEB.
If we spend half the time of what we spend in blaming MSEB, in actually coming forward collectively and doing something, only then can we make a difference.
I dont know what the hell is wrong with MSEB. They are back to their old ways of erratic load shedding again.
Our house has two phases. Our load shedding schedules are supposed to be from 14.00 to 16.30 hours and 13.00 to 15.30 hours.
Out of these, we regularly have load shedding between 14.00 to 16.30 hours but Heaven knows what has happened to the other schedule.
At times it starts at 7.45 AM, at times at 8.00 AM, at other times it starts at 10.45 AM and resumes at 11.00. There are times when it start at 11.00 AM and resumes at 11.01 AM. Most of the days we do not have a load shedding for that particular time slot (if I can call it that) at all!
When are completely agreeing with MSEB's need of load shedding despite them not doing anything about power theft in places like Bhiwandi, is it too much to expect them to be a little more transparent?
MSEB SHOULD STOP CUTING ELECTRICITY AS THIS IS TOTAL PARTIALITY.NONE OTHER PLACES ACCEPT BHANDUP AND THANE RECEIVE THIS UNCONVIENENCE.GOVT. CANNOT IGNORE THIS AS MULUND IS SLOWLY KOSING ITS TITLE OF 'PRINCE OF SUBURBS'.MSEB PLEASE STOP THIS BRUTALITY.
THE TRAFFIC OF MULUND IS A HAVOC AT SOME AREAS MAJORITY OF THE MAJOR SIGNALS DO NOT WORK.THE ROADS THAT WERE MADE ONE WAY WAS A GOOD IDEA,BUT TEY REMOOVED IT TO.EVEN THE GARBAGE VANS DO NOT VISIT THE DUSTBIN REGULARLY.C'MON BMC CANT YOU DO ANYTHING BETTER FOR THE SUBURB.MSEB PLEASE STOP HARRASING US BY CUTTING POWER.THE RECENT INCIDENT OF FIRE AT AMBE KRUPA BUILDING,THE FIRE BRIGADE ARRIVED 45MIN.AFTER THE FIRE BROKE.THEY SHOULD BE MORE ALERT.PEOLE DEPEND ON THEM IN SUCH SITUATIONS.
